Gym Upgrade

The project at Furzefield Leisure Centre will include a major upgrade of the gym to accommodate the latest connected gym equipment from Matrix and an amazing functional training space featuring the Technogym SKILL range, which offers high intensity interval training, speed resistance training and neuromuscular training, as well as immersive and entertaining options to keep you motivated.  The new facilities will be opening in January 2019.

New Immersive Group Cycling Studio

As part of the development work we will be introducing Stages flight, our new immersive, power based, group cycling studio. The new facility will provide a unique workout experience with nightclub-style sound system and LED lighting and large screen display, providing a bespoke workout environment.

There will be a great range of classes, seven days a week, to suit everyone, from the traditional Pedal X classes to the new Stages Flight sessions.  In order to benefit from the full immersive experience we recommend you register with Stages Flight.

Once you have registered with Stages Flight, you will need to attend a set up session to complete your registration. These set up sessions will be running between Monday 17th – Friday 21st December at 8.30 – 9.30am, 5.00 – 6.00pm and 8.00pm – 9.00pm.

We will be running half hour taster sessions from Thursday 27th – Monday 31st December at various times, please register your interest.

Take some time out for you this afternoon. With all the hand washing we’ve been doing our hands might need some tlc.

Here is a step by step guide for a manicure or pedicure.

1. File nails into desired shape
2. Gently push cuticles back with cuticle pusher or orange wood stick
3. Apply 1 layer of base coat and allow to dry
4. Apply 2 thin layers of chosen colour polish allowing each coat to dry before applying the next
5. Apply 1 layer of top coat to seal and protect the colour beneath
6.Regularly moisturise your hands and apply cuticle oil to help keep them nourished

You could also paint your Childrens nails or allow them to paint yours if you’re feeling brave!

Combine squats, lunges, tricep dips, cross crawl and a plank or hover – 45 seconds for each exercise with a 20 second rest in between. Come on let’s do this!

We asked YOU if lockdown had been good or bad for your activity levels.

We had 218 responses across our 5 centres and 56% of you have found lockdown has reduced your activity levels, and 44% have been more active. So it was a close result!

While we're really glad to hear that so many of you are active, these results show that lockdown has had an impact for some people.
